MH does operate A330-300, who cannot make it to AMS. So with the B772 on the way out, they are left with the A380, to big probably, or with aircraft that doesn't have the legs to make it to AMS. And if they find a good way to ditch the A380's, they wouldn't mind to get rid of them too, good for PR, but to much of a plane for them. But is also still very well possible that as part of the recovery plan, they will order new longhaul aircraft, which can make it to AMS.
Time will tell
