Since we made several forays into the 1990's already, some fom my side.
The spotter's day on 21 June 1995 brought half the Portuguese AF to Soesterberg.
Excuses if this already has been posted.
Hans.

Thanks Hans for sharing! The first Alpha Jet A is my favorite one. Although it ain't pics from the eighties, I like your Portuguese contribution!

This AAC Lynx declared an emergency and made a straight in approach at runway 31 overhead the spotters location
after which it was welcomed by the fire brigade. Note the smokey engine
KLu Falcons were also regular visitors like this TGKLu J-646
F-16A(R) J-647
And a C-130E Hercules

Peter why don't you publish you pics in a Soesterberg photobook. You certainly have enough material. Incredible. This AAC Lynx declared an emergency and made a straight in approach at runway 31 overhead the spotters location
l'll order the first copy right now. ...well actually you should give it a thought.
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Eagles taxiing with canopies open was a rare sight but here 81-0065/CR and 79-0026/CR both came back from a mission and taxi back to the Camp with their canopies open.

Back in the late '70-s "Onze Luchtmacht" arranged a visit to the 32nd TFS and I joined in with my uncle who took these pictures. All pictures are taken from the bus.

Re: some old 80's pics of Soesterberg AB.
somewhere in the early eighties this German Alpha Jet was transported back to Germany on a trailer. It is seen here leaving the airbase with the last houses of "Ons Belang" in the background. Anyone know the story behind this Alpha?

The german Alpha-jet on the truck might be the one which made a wheels up landing at Soesterberg.
