With Benfica playing Juventus tonight (24th of April) in the Europa League I was hoping for a bunch of Italian charters and/or bizjets... and that the rain would stay away.

It turned out the otherway.... no Italians and a wet suite... so I only stayed for a short while with not much to show for it:

With Atletico against Real, both of Madrid of course, the charters from Madrid for the Champions League final were limited. Just a few Iberia and Air Europa flights. However, the day airport was packed with interesting flights nonetheless. Dozens of bizjets all over the place, with more at Cascais and, as I was told, many also parked at Porto. This is what I logged at Lisbon today, more still arrived after 17.00 when I had to leave.

Not a lot while waiting for my flight to Frank... uh, Munich, but yet more new Global Expresses. The Transaero is not a normal one, but a VIP plane in a special purple c/s.

Some interesting stuff today at Lisbon. The Syphax A319 apparantly flies for TAP at the moment (but full Syphax livery). The Windrose A330 as well, but only to plug a whole in the flights to Brasil. These flights are total chaos at the moment, due to some unplanned maintenance issues. I have no explanation for the rest, but nice nonetheless.

Not a very busy airport and unless you don't need a lot of TAP, it can be a long day here.
Spotting was done from the wellknown mound opposite the terminal (38.78009,-9.14084). Quite some locals can be seen there watching aircraft.
If you want to see the TAP A330's, be there early morning. Most of them come in between 0530-0700, then second batch arrives 1100-1200. The first 3 A330's that go out, leave at 0930lt. I made all A330's except CS-TOP (which was based for 2 weeks in Porto and arrived back in LIS the day I left, lucky me..) and CS-TOQ that was delivered to TAP earlier this week.

Around Lisbon quite some fields can be visited.
We went to Montijo AFB in the east where we only could see C130's 16801/16802. Very difficult to see anything at all but these two were seen from this road: 38.71180,-9.00679

Sintra AFB north of Cascais has a nice museum. Inside a Ju52 (6304), Noratlas 6403, Fa20 17103 plus some smaller stuff. Outside an Orion (14806), Neptune 4711, DC-3 CS-DGA. More east on the field DC-3 6157 plus two C212's (16508/16524).

Next stop was the area of Belas where we found DC-6 6707 (38.79228,-9.25609) in use by a police-unit. After leaving the N250-road (southside) it is about 1km off the road-track. As we visited in the weekend no one was seen but during the week workers could be around as trees are being removed in that area. The DC-6 can be seen from a fence and through the trees. Be aware there are signs at the beginning of the track, it is private property.

Alverca was also done, a little northeast from LIS airport. There is a small museum but only open on Mondays. Some fighters are parked outside.
To see some stored aircraft, go to the museum and before that turn right towards the big parkinglot (38.88781,-9.03061). Here you can see the stored Orion (14801), DC-6 6706, DC-4 6606, 2 Noratlas (6412/6420), Be18 2514 plus some fighters in derelict condition. Also seen was the fuselage of Noratlas 6417.
We were lucky to see Ceiba 737-800 CS-FAF coming in. From the bridge crossing the railway you could see some tails near the hangars. When flying out of LIS airport to the northeast, try to get a seat at the righthand side for a good view of Alverca. During climbout a Fly540 ERJ170 was seen (should be N274EC) plus another ERJ170 in primer (should be M-YRGP) and an unknown ERJ190.
