Hello all,
I visited Skiathos on a family holiday earlier this month which resulted in three visits to this stunning airport.
The first day saw two Thomson 757's from and to Manchester and Gatwick as well as a Volotea 717 which I was pleased to catch.
The second visit wasn't planned but as there were severe storms in the morning we decided to head to the town and stopping by at the airport. Two of the aircraft I caught were positioning in from near by islands after diverting earlier in the day due to weather. The highlight was the Arke 737 which performed an amazingly close 180 and the crew have us all a wave and thumps up, before putting the full thrust on seriously close to the fence for around ten seconds which caused many people to get hurt and loose mobile phones. One teenager was flung around 20 feet into the sea.
Anyway here are the photos. Keep an eye on my Youtube for videos from the airport too...

Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
