B777 N223IU or N2331U

Post by camel1 »

Hello,

Can someone tell me if this B777 is the N233IU or the N2331U. Also there is a difference in fleetnumbers, as shown in the picture; 0031 or 2131.
In Scramble WAF2017 the N2331U is the 62642/1453 with fleetnumber 0031.

As per the FAA register the N2331U is a 77W with United as registered owner, the N233IU does not exist currently.

Characters 'I' and 'O' are not allowed in US registrations, as these are too easily confused with a 'one' and a 'zero' (http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... quiry.aspx). Therefore a registration as mentioned above, like N233IU would not even be possible.

Happy spotting,

Kees
