FRANKFURT, Germany —
A private plane struck a crowd of onlookers shortly after landing at a small air show in central Germany on Saturday, killing one person and injuring 10 others, including two children, police said.
Hartmut Tuermer, a spokesman for police in the town of Gotha, said the prop-powered plane had landed just before 4 p.m. local time near Eisenach just before it hit people along the runway and then struck a children's carousel before coming to a halt.
One man was killed and 10 other people were hurt, three seriously, said Karin Koehler, another police spokeswoman. Another seven suffered what she called light injuries, including two children aged 9 and 14. She said the carousel had not been in operation when the plane hit it.
She said the event was canceled and police were still trying to determine how the plane hit the spectators. The name of the pilot or the type of plane was not immediately released.

According tot German news agencies, a tyre appears to have blown on take off (so, not on landing as AP mentions), damaging the plane and causing it to veer off its course and into the candy-floss van before it ended up in an -fortunately empty- merry-go-round

Hope for us this is not affecting the airshow season in Germany (Some high ranked people in the military still know about the Frecce at Ramstein).
Of course my condolences to the family of the victim.

At this moment, "only" the 14 year old child remains hospitalised.
The Z-37 ended up in a sugar-candy van, not in the carousel.
After a few years of flying at German Air Shows the same thing happens again. We can all figure out what the consequences will be unfortunately..
My condolences to all the people involved in this tragic accident...
