MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- A Boeing 737 with 69 people aboard landed safely Saturday after making an emergency landing at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, an airport spokeswoman and Russia's Interfax news agency said.
The plane was on its way to Moscow from Sochi, on the Black Sea, Interfax reported, citing a law enforcement source.
The airport's Web site identified the plane as a Sky Express flight.
The crew had detected vibrations in the plane's left engine and the plane was circling the airport to burn excess fuel to make the landing safer, Interfax reported.
Fire engines, ambulances, and other support vehicles had been on standby near the runway, the news agency said.
