Can someone advise about the best location to watch the air show. I understand that the show is not at Volkel airbase but somewhere along a 300 meter airstrip.

Well, first of all, the sun is in your face and the fences are pretty high which can be annoying. I watched it from the display line last year, bad bad weather. Check my photos at my site to give an impression what its like from the display line.

Around the direct vicinity of the display line security is pretty strict about where you are allowed to take photos.

I assume most planes leave from Volkel airport, I like to see the F16 and not so interested in the small planes and Para’s. Is it worth waiting at Volkel airport to see the planes departing and arriving?
Please your feedback.

The reason probably being (news taken from the same site) the fact that Sheik broke his foot at the end of April :| . Good luck with the recovery & hope to see you back up again soon :P
