Emirates to fly AMS-DXB in 2010
Confirmed during the Dutch Aviation Group congress which was held this week: Emirates wil (finally!) start pax operations between Amsterdam and Dubai. No start date known yet (also nothing in the slot allocation list), but expected is a daily flight. So great news!

We'll see what happens; it would be a great succes for AMS (however nothing is for sure in aviation) as this plan has quite some history @ AMSphkza wrote:Confirmed during the Dutch Aviation Group congress which was held this week: Emirates wil (finally!) start pax operations between Amsterdam and Dubai. And it remains to be seen for how long Dubai is still considered a big market....
Nevertheless, it would be a great addition indeed for Amsterdam and I truly hope it will happen this time! Qatar maybe coming, Emirates maybe coming, will make spotting a lot more interesting again!

Re: Emirates to fly AMS-DXB in 2010
I know, there has been a lot of speculation about this for years. However, the EK flights out of DUS consist of 40 and maybe even 50% Dutch passengers. So maybe EK have enough reason for going to AMS...

I certainly agree and I think the flights are long overdue. And again, I hope this time it really is true!

As the report states; SPL want to keep in touch/ connected with DXB as hub-port and due to the after-Airport-tax-reïntroducion-for-new-airlines has gainned the interest of EK for AMS (just like QR) so in this case waving with money has some effectphkza wrote:I know, there has been a lot of speculation about this for years. LHR also houses a lot of Dutch / Belgium pax that now can transfer via AMS instead; hopefully everything continues as planned.

With LHR and CDG (next week) with an daily A380 ??? No way this will come to AMS ... B777-300 is most likely (perhaps that one flight of LHR / DUS will be transferred to AMS ??) however A330 is also possible ...GoldenEagle wrote:Great news! I love it to see Emirates!

Guess it will be an A330, likewise Qatari...GoldenEagle wrote:Great news! I love it to see Emirates!

Indeed, when offering good/fast connections, they'll (EK/QR) definitely prosper with the AMS destination (I for instance hope for fast AMS-DOH-SGN v.v. connections)...

Apparently the link has been removed. Maybe this news wasn't supposed to be released?

This would be good news. It will become easier and quicker to get down to Western Australia...

The final negotiations are still ongoing between AMS and EK so perhaps this release slipped throughRCV wrote:Apparently the link has been removed. Maybe this news wasn't supposed to be released?

I wonder if this was confirmed in an interview, because Ad Rutten confirmed nothing during his speach at the Dutch Aviation Symposium....
