Hello,

Mentioned in the Airshow section. De Kooy will be closed later this year.
Will operations with helicopters continue at the field or will operations ( both mil and civ ) tranfer to another station ?

Closure of De Kooij?? Earlier this week Defensie signed an agreement for 24/7 (day/night) SAR-missions for the wadden-isles. These missions would be conducted with the NH-90, operating from De Kooy.

De Kooy will reconstruct their runway starting at end of July according our information. For helicopters a special parellel taxiway (12 m width) will be built in the meantime. But for fixed wing this track is not available (too small). The reconstruction is planned to be finished within 3 months.

It's only a closure for three months, due to repair operations on the runway. It won't be closed for ever!

Rene,

According to the same tread in the airshow section, the runway will have a major overhaul and a parallel track wil be made for helicopter traffic both mil and civ. So the regular offshore and navy flights will most likely be unaffected. fixed wing operations will most probably be affected.

All this is now postponed until 2011, as preparations took too long to guarantee a November 1 hand-over. Source: http://www.denhelderairport.nl. The taxitrack though will be build this year. Hope this will not effect the Texel International Airshow for another year....

Weet iemand waar dat tijdelijke baantje precies komt te liggen ? Ik wil de komende maanden nog een keertje naar de Kooy, en het zou natuurlijk super zijn als dit alternatieve baantje wat extra of betere fotografeer mogelijkheden biedt. Kan iemand hier meer over vertellen ?

Parallel RWY 04/22 tussen de baan en de toren in.

Overigens is het de bedoeling dat dat "tijdelijke baantje" gewoon blijft liggen onder de vermoedelijke noemer "Taxitrack Delta"

Daarmee zullen de fotografeermogelijkheden aan de oostkant niet echt veranderen. Aan de westkant sta je misschien iets dichterbij.
