NAS Fallon/CVW-17
During my recent trip to the USA i also visited NAS Fallon which proved to be a busy place because of the presence of CVW-13 and VFA-204. Fallon is one of the places to be and is the naval counterpart of Nellis AFB. NSAWC and VFC-13 are always a guarantee for some nice colorbirds. Unfortunately they have started putting up sunsheds on the VFC-13 ramp probably followed by NSAWC. Here is a small selection. Hope you enjoy them.

Re: NAS Fallon/CVW-17
I have spoken with Zip about this, he told me that mostlikely the NSAWC and visitors (CAW deployment) ramps will not follow. This because VFC-13 has used their own budget to get them build, as their ground crew have been complaining about the heat/sun all the time when working on the tarmac.Hans Antonissen wrote:Unfortunately they have started putting up sunsheds on the VFC-13 ramp probably followed by NSAWC.
You never know what will follow of course, but currently there are no such plans so far.

Re: NAS Fallon/CVW-17
That's good news, got the impression that they were gonna do the same as Nellis giving all the local units sunsheds. Anaway Fallon still remains one of the most interesting US bases.Wijgert IJlst wrote:I have spoken with Zip about this, he told me that mostlikely the NSAWC and visitors (CAW deployment) ramps will not follow. Re: NAS Fallon/CVW-17
Outside shooting at Fallon is pretty good, nice oppertunities to shoot banking planes especially in the (late) afternoon. During my visit on base a local told me that shooting from the outside was prohibited because of somekind of local law. Can anyone confirm this? Anaway we had no security problems. We were standing pretty far away from the fence. Here are some of them.

Re: NAS Fallon/CVW-17
spent some time outside Fallon in August, also far away from the fence.
saw a police-car pass by, the officer definitely saw us, but did not bother stopping.
But, just for the sake of preventing issues I moved to a spot underneath 31L, a bit more 'out of view' from people passing by.
