Re: spotter day tiger meet 2010???
What Jimmy PROBABLY meant was that he considers ALL days as spotters days
AFAIK it is not even sure if there WILL be an official spotters day. The RNethAF certainly does not have the same tradition or track record concerning these events as Kleine Brogel, but we all hope they will be able to surprise us in a positive way C'mon Tiger guys, all of spotting Europe is counting on you! And actually, during the "Tigers at Twenthe" Meet in 1992 there WAS an international spotters day
In the end, if there's no spotters day we will all end up taking pictures from the designated spotters areas OUTSIDE the base

Re: spotter day tiger meet 2010???
Quite some international aviation buff travel clubs are offering trips and entrance to a spotters day. Interesting to follow if it will take place. If they do it like they did at last year's airshow (only a restricted number of non Dutch spottergroup members and restricted number of spotters from each organisation), there might be more organisations offering entrance to the base than spotters on the base if there is any event.

Volkel PRO officials were present during last KB tiger meet to have a look how the Belgians organised the spottersday and learn from it.
So keep your fingers crossed they were pleased with what they learned that day

Nice piece of guerilla marketing though from the international travel groups to promote this if you aren't really sure it will be such an open event as the Keebee one.
Apart from that, I hope spotters are involved in at least some of the preparations (maybe SGV) to make sure conditions are as optimal as possible (within operational, safety, security and logistic constraints) We must remember the NTM is still an operational exercise albeit a very special one..
Apart from that, let's hope for great weather ! (especially as it's in October)

Re: Spotter's Day tiger meet 2010 only for Dutch spotter?
Quite frankly, I first have to be convinced that there will be a spotterday to begin with. The Dutch Air Force does not have a history of organising spotters events for major exercises, giving access to foreigners or rather non-members of spotting groups in the Netherlands. See Frisian Flag for instance.efa78 wrote:Hello everyone I have heard rumors that the spotter's day 2010 tiger meet, given the lack of Dutch military personnel, will be open only for 400 people, giving priority to Dutch spotters. 'S true, are just rumors, if that were a big disappointment is really bad, I was not expecting the Dutch organization
In other countries one pays for access, thus covering the costs, but some daft law in the Netherlands prohibits the military to collect money for this purpose.
Let's wait and see...
Hans.
Re: Spotter's Day tiger meet 2010 only for Dutch spotter?
sorry guys , but don't be to quick with a preconceived opinion .
Dutch air force officials have had a good look at the previous Kleine Brogel Tiger Meet with the main goal on letting aircraft enthausiasts on the base during the exercise.
There are plans, so I say PLANS, because it can easily be cancelled for any reason.
The plans consisits of a spottersday with only Dutch people, and a day with only foreign people.
Be patient , and enjoy the summer, and wait for the news.

I am disappointed, they say in Italy. or all or none, what costs to organize a day if they can do everything
