Been there nine years ago. All I can remember was that we drove to the approach which is easy to find and very open (like Volkel). You will be noticed though...

The North side of the base is easily accessible. There's a road to a meteo station just off-base with a view on to the base and in the approach. I spent several hours there last year without problems. You are in the open.
At the civil Terminal (South side) you are close to the taxi way but long grass, a fence and lots of people and traffic (including police) made me think twice before showing off my camera. A little further south you can reach the Southern approach by taking a road from a roundabout to some farms. I didn't spend much time there and no idea as to photo possibilities or how long you can loiter without hassle. No view on base from there but I didn't venture out on foot.
Hope it helps. and BTW I am still looking for the ID of the black and red Mirage 3 dual used for fire fighting practise. Anyone?

On the east from the field is a village called Parcay - Meslay. There is a highway between the base and the village, though a small street called Route des Boissierres runs from here over the highway. From this dirt you can obtain some views on the runway as well and you can park out of sight.
