Pakistan Navy Lineage 1000 ex FAS Timothy Brandt 640Additional Lineage 1000 for Pakistan Navy

The Pakistan Bhari'a (پاکستان بحریہ Pakistan Navy) is set to receive two Embraer ERJ190 Lineage 1000 aircraft to be modified to Sea Sultan multi mission patrol aircraft (MPA).

They already have one ERJ190, construction number 19000453 (ex B-3203) that is still unmodified and used for crew training at PNS Station Mehran, Karachi/Sharea Faisal. On 28 May 2021, Scramble Magazine reported on the delivery of this aircraft.

One of the two additional aircraft is the former A6-HHS (19000296) from Falcon Aviation Services (FAS), United Arab Emirates.

It is not known who will supply the second ERJ190. FAS used to have two ERJ190s in its inventory, but the second one, A6-IGT (c/n 19000362), was sold in 2016 to Global Jet Luxembourg as LX-IBR and is currently registered M-AKKU with Aliforti Ltd.

The modifications will take place at Wonderboom in South Africa with Paramount Group. Pakistan Navy Sea Sultan 320After receiving the USD 100 million package of mission equipment, they will be operated by either a new or existing ASW/EW/IW squadron. The FAS Lineage already arrived at Wonderboom early June 2022 where Timothy Brandt managed to photoghraph it.

One of these squadrons, 29(ASW/EW/IW)sq is set to receive its fourth ATR72 Sea Eagle shortly. Aircraft 77 is currently in the very last stage of its upgrade at RAS Mönchengladbach (Germany).

If all these projects are finished, the Pakistan Navy will have a much stronger patrol and reconnaissance fleet.
