Chile Navy Dauphin Santiago Rivas 640Additonal Dauphin for Chilean Navy

The Armada de Chile (Chilean Navy) obtained a ninth Dauphin helicopter. Former CC-CLJ, an AS365N3 (c/n 6781) was obtained second hand like the previous eight.

Four of the Dauphins were sourced from the Irish Air Corps (IAC), the other four from the civil market. The new Dauphin will also be operated by the Primero Escuadrón de Helicópteros de Propósitos Generales (HU-1) as HH-65 with serial 58.

The unit is headquartered at Viña del Mar, but the Dauphins are also deployed on their Blanco Encalada class M-frigates.
