Airbus H145M for Lithuanian Border Guard
On 29 November 2023, Airbus Helicopters announced that a contract was signed at this year's European Rotors trade show in Madrid (Spain) for the delivery of three five-bladed H145M multi-mission helicopters to the Lithuanian Border Guard.
The helicopters will be operated for a wide range of missions including search and rescue, disaster relief and medevac, border patrol, firefighting, transport of donor organs, and operational deployment of the Lithuanian Special Forces.
The Valstybes Sienos Apsaugos Tarnyba (State Border Protection Service) is based at Paluknys and currently operates a fleet of five Airbus helicopters, two EC120B Colibri (LY-HCB and LY-HCC), two EC135T2i (LY-HCD and LY-HCE) and one EC145C2 (LY-HCF).
The new version of Airbus’ H145 adds a new, innovative five-bladed rotor to the multi-mission H145, increasing the useful load of the helicopter by 150 kg.
