Airbus H160 for the Gendarmerie

Next to the Hélicoptère Interarmée Léger (HIL) Guépard programme for the three service branches within the French military, also the Gendarmerie will order the multi-role twin engine Airbus H160.

As part of the aeronautics support plan within the Gendarmerie, the Ministry of Economy will order ten Airbus H160 helicopters to replace the older Ecureuils, which are already in use for more than 30 years. The total cost of this contract, to be signed in 2021, is 200 million euros.

The Gendarmerie has 26 AS350BA and AS350B2 Écureuils in its inventory.
