Another new B737 for the Peruvian Air Force

The Fuerza Aérea del Perú (Peruvian Air Force) has awarded a contract to US based Aviation Global Group to provide a B737 for USD 10.5 million.

The selected aircraft, cargo Boeing B737-4B6SF with construction number 26526/2219, was formerly operated by AerCaribe as HK-5228.

The aircraft started its life in March 1992 as a full passenger Boeing B737-4B6 operated by Royal Air Maroc. In 2013, the aircraft was converted from a B737-4B6 to B737-4B6SF. AerCaribe operated the cargo Boeing 737 from June 2017.

The B737 will be added to the Grupo 8 fleet at Lima-Callao/International Jorge Chavez before the end on this year, or early 2021.

Grupo 8 already operates -200 series B737-282 352 (c/n 23042/967) and -500 series B737-528 356 (c/n 27426/2739). In May 2020, another B737 was acquired, the former UR-CRL (c/n 24717/1930), a -300 series. That aircraft was receiving work at D&S, Fort Lauderdale (FL), USA. That B737 is expected to be delivered somewhere this month.
