ARC Endurance off-loading 1st CAB
The American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) Endurance berthed at Dunkirk (France) on Saturday 6 March 2021 and has started to off-load a large number of helicopters from the 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade.
As reported in our news item of 8 February 2021, around sixty helicopters will be off-loaded and are planned to gather at l’aéroport de Calais/Dunkerque prior to departing to Illesheim-Storck Barracks Army Heliport (Germany) for onward deployment through Europe. On the official website of the US Army Europe and Africa, a number of community notifications have been reported on the possible stops on their way to Illesheim.
The following notifications for increased flights are reported where communities may see large formation of helicopters. All flights are scheduled to occur between the hours of 08:00 hrs LT and 18:00 hrs LT. The flights are scheduled to start on Monday 8 March 2021.
So no possible route via Chievres (Belgium) is reported.
The units to be involved in the upcoming rotation from the 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade are 1-1st AVN (ARB) with AH-64E Apache Guardian, 2-1st AVN (GSAB) with A/2-1st AVN UH-60L Black Hawk, B/2/1st AVN CH-47F Chinook and C/2-1st AVN HH-60M Black Hawk, and 3-1st AVN (AHB) with UH-60M Black Hawk.
