Argentina seeks Black Hawk helicopters
On 2 December 2024, a bid was launched by the Comando de Aviación del Ejército Argentino (EA, Argentine Army Aviation) to acquire three second hand UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. The twin-engine, medium-lift utility military helicopter come from the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) stock of the USA.
This summer, a potential deal emerged with Israel that offered to upgrade ten UH-60L with modern avionics and self-defence systems. We do not know if that deal is still on the table as well and if these three helicopters are involved in that programme.
The current tender also requests simulation hours and pilot training for the five crews. The helicopters will be serialled AE-531 to AE-533.
