Embraer has officially begun the structural assembly of Austria’s first C-390 Millennium. On 14 February 2025, this milestone was marked by a ceremony at the Gavião Peixoto production facility, attended by representatives of the Austrian government.

A photograph from the event reveals part of the constructor’s number (c/n) as No. 23, confirming the full c/n as 39000023.

The C-390 Millennium is a highly versatile medium-lift aircraft with a maximum payload capacity of 26 tons and a top speed of 470 knots. Designed for a wide range of missions, it supports cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, firefighting, air-to-air refueling, and disaster relief operations.

Austria’s acquisition of the C-390 will replace its ageing C-130K fleet, with deliveries to the Österreichische Luftstreitkräfte (Austrian Air Force) expected to begin in 2026. The country will receive a total of four C-390 transport aircraft.
