Assembly of Eurofighters Tranche 4 has begun
Recently Airbus Defense started assembling Eurofighter Typhoon jets for the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) at their Manching site. The order for this next batch of Eurofighters was already announced by Germany in November 2020 under project name Quadriga.
In total the order consists of 38 aircraft, divided in thirty single-seat and eight twin-seater variants. They will replace an equal number Tranche 1 versions of the Eurofighter that are being retired.
Notable differences compared with previous tranches are the installation of the E-Scan European Common Radar (ECRS) system and updated software.
Delivery of this next batch is to be completed by 2030.
