The Saudi Hawks demonstration team of the Al Quwwat al Jawwiya as Sa'udiya (Royal Saudi Air Force, RSAF) is seen here enroute to the Athens Flying Week.
The Athens Flying Week will be held at Tanagra, which is host of the International Air Show 2021, taking place this weekend, 4 & 5 September.
The amount of participants is quite impressive, with the Hellenic armed forces being well represented, plus many European countries, the US and Saudi Arabia providing extra flavour to the event.
On both days there will be a show of force demonstration (like we are used to from the Netherlands Air Force Open Days), with an airfield attack performed by a Phantom!
The organisation has gone out of its way to make sure the event is in line with social distancing rules and even catered for the aviation enthusiasts with dedicated rows on a grandstand for the photographers (row 10 for photographers with tripods).
Tanagra itself is the home base of 114 PM, comprising of 331 Mira Thiseas (Mirage 2000), 332 Mira Geraki (Mirage 2000)and 114 PM SMET Antaios (Mirage 2000), plus the well know Hellenic Aerospace Industry complex, which does maintenance on various types of aircraft.
