Belgian Air Force Falcon 7X set course to Malta during a navi-flight
Belgian Air Component (BAF, Belgian Air Force) Dassault Falcon 7X OO-LUM as seen on 19 October 2020 at Luqa (Malta) for a quick turnaround during a navigational training flight.
Registration OO-LUM belongs to 21 Squadron of the 15th Wing, which are stationed at Melsbroek air base (Belgium). OO-LUM was delivered to the BAF on 30 April 2020. It has since been flying to qualify four crews and began its first transport missions, carrying only military personnel to date. The BAF has dry-leased two Falcon 7Xs from Luxaviation/Abelag Aviation (the latter being OO-FAE) which have been operational only since 1 October 2020.
The dry-lease contract is worth 124 million euro (USD and will guarantee the two Falcon 7Xs during a period of twelve years, based on the agreement with Hi Fly. Hi Fly is the Portuguese ACMI specialist, which currently also leases an Airbus A321 (CS-TRJ) to the Belgian Air Component.
