Bell 505 delivery to Jamaica Defence Force
On 11 May 2021, Bell Textron Inc. announced the 300th Bell 505 Jet Ranger X delivery. On 10 February 2021, Scramble magazine reported that the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) had ordered six Bell 505s.
The JDF Air Wing continues its expansion programme with the latest acquisition. After the purchase in 2018 of two additional Bell 206B-3s for the Caribbean Military Aviation School (CMAS), and an additional Bell 412 and nine Bell 429s, the next purchase was for the Bell 505.
The new helicopters will be used for training and security roles. The four high visibility Bell 505s, serials JDF H-46 to JDF H-49, will be operated by CMAS at Kingston/Norman Manley International. The two olive drab painted ones, serials JDF H-50 and JDF H-51, will be used at Kingston - Up Park Camp with the 2nd Flight or 3rd Flight. If you have additional information, please let us know at
