Black Hawk for Nuevo Leon state security
The Mexican state of Nuevo León has received a Black Hawk helicopter for security missions. The helicopter landed at Monterrey-General Mariano Escobedo International Airport on 25 October 2023.
The Black Hawk will be added to the state of Nuevo Leon’s Fuerza Civil (civil force) helicopter fleet and will be used in the battle against high impact crime in the northern Mexican state. The helicopter fleet of the state of Nuevo León consists of Bell 206L, Bell 212, Bell 412 and EC145 helicopters.
The purchase of the helicopter was announced by Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda last April, and in August the first pictures of the new helicopter were shown, taken at Huntsville (AL). The UH-60A+ was auctioned by the US Army and acquired via a broker. It has been painted in dark colours with large Fuerza Civil titles and white code VCA-10, although no Mexican XC-registration (for public services) has been visible on pictures released so far. The helicopter is the former US Army 82-23711 (c/n 70534) as has been registered N1475X for flights in the United States.
Black Hawk helicopters are in widespread use with the Mexican Air Force (6x UH-60L and 17x UH-60M), Mexican Navy (9x UH-60M), National Guard (6x S-70A and 6x UH-60M) and the security services of the state of Jalisco (1x S-70i).
