Breaking: crash historic Hawker Hurricane!
On 14 August 2022, a Hawker Hurricane Mk.IV owned by Flying Aces Services & Training crashed at 15:30 hrs LT during an air show at the airfield of Cheb (Czech Republic). Unfortunately the pilot did not survive the accident.
The Hurricane, registered OO-HUR and Royal Air Force markings "BE150"/JX-E, was performing a display when the aircraft crashed outside the airport on the border of a field and a house in the city of Podhrad.
In 2021, the Hurricane was thoroughly overhauled by the FAST Aero company at Brasschaat (Belgium). On 20 May 2021 it was prepared for its first flight. The Hurricane has been acquired by a group of Czech aviation enthusiasts, Flying Aces Services & Training, around the Aviation Museum Točná. This group is officially located in Belgium, but in fact has a Czech board.
