C-17A Globemaster III mishap

On 18 October 2020, a McChord's 62nd Airlift Wing C-17A Globemaster III made an emergency landing at Kandahar Air Base (Afghanistan). For unknown reasons, the nose landing gear could not not be lowered and the big cargo aircraft made a nosewheel up landing.

As can be seen in the video, the nose of the Globemaster remained up for a long time and some cargo doors had already been opened as a precaution. The amount of damage to the Globemaster has yet to be assessed, but fortunately nobody was injured.

Although the serial from the mishap C-17A has not been confirmed and even blocked in the video footage, by deduction and last noted, it is most probably 08-8199.
