Chile’s Air Force seeks industry input to replace helicopters
The Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh, Chilean Air Force) is in the process of acquiring a substitute for their UH-1H Iroquois fleet.
Grupo de Aviación Nº9 currently still has around ten of these venerable work horses and they are often forward deployed for various support missions. The cost of operating them is ever increasing, so a more modern and cost-effective alternative is sought.
Fourteen aircraft are to be obtained and it is unknown which manufacturers received the Request For Information (RFI).
As the contract needs to be fulfilled this year, it could be possible that second hand aircraft are accepted as well. If you have more information, please let us know at
