Crash Brazilian Navy Super Cougar
On 8 August 2023, the Marinha do Brasil (Brazilian Navy) lost UH-15 Super Cougar N-7106 of the Segunda Esquadrão de Helicópteros Emprego Geral (HU-2, 2nd general purpose helicopter squadron.)
Based at São Pedro da Aldeia in Rio de Janeiro state, the helicopter was conducting a fast roping exercise near Formosa when something went horribly wrong. Of the fourteen on board, two were killed unfortunately. Six others were admitted to two hospitals. There will be an investigation into the cause of this accident, the first with a Super Cougar in Brazilian service.
