On Sunday 12 September 2021, a Sécurité Civile Eurocopter EC145 with callsign Dragon 38 crashed in the Villard-de-Lans sector, Isère and was destroyed by a post impact fire.
The EC145 is reported as F-ZBQG (construction number 9217), based at Grenoble/Le Versoud.
The helicopter was on its way to rescue a mountain biker in difficulty when it suddenly lost altitude. According to witnesses, the aircraft hit a cable. One occupant, a flight engineer was killed and four others were injured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
