Czechia orders Zlin training aircraft
On 28 January 2025, the Czech Government and Zlin Aero signed a contract for the purchase of six Zlin Z242LSi single-engine two-seat training aircraft and two Zlin Z143LSi four-seat light training aircraft.
The aircraft are destined for the Vzdušné síly armády České republiky (CzAF, Czech Air Force) at Pardubice Air Base, where they will be operated by the Centrum Leteckého Výcviku LOM s.p. (CLV–LOM).
These new training aircraft will replace the ageing Zlin Z142C-AF, of which CLV–LOM currently operates eight. The first three aircraft will be delivered in 2025, with the remaining deliveries scheduled for 2026.
Zlin Aero showcased some of the new aircraft on social media, revealing the following Z242LSi construction numbers, which are likely linked to their future serials: 0857, 0862, 0863, 0865, and 0866.
