Delivery of third A330MRTT to Eindhoven

On 19 November 2020, the third A330MRTT for the NATO Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) arrived at Eindhoven air base (The Netherlands). The aircraft, serial T-056 (construction number 1919), departed Madrid/Getafe (Spain) with call sign MMF70 and arrived at Eindhoven after dark.

The first two aircraft were delivered in June 2020 (serial T-055) and August 2020 (serial T-054). The rest of the aircraft will be delivered in the time frame November 2020 to October 2024.

The Initial Operating Capabilty (IOC) for the Multinational MRTT fleet is planned to be reached in the third quarter of 2022, with the Full Operating Capability (FOC) to be reached in the summer of 2024. The final aircraft delivery will be October 2024.

In total, the Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport Fleet programme will be equipped with nine aircraft and five aircraft will be based at Eindhoven Airbase in the Netherlands. Another three will be based in Cologne (Germany). It is not known yet where MRTT number nine will be based.

Originally it was planned that A330MRTT T-056 would have been delivered to Cologne, but the infrastructure to receive the MRTTs has not been finished yet.
