Egypt Air Force participates in Sudan Air Force exercise

From 14 November until 26 November 2020, the exercise Eagles of the Nile is being held at Marawi air base (Sudan). Next to the Al Quwwat al-Jawwiya as-Sudaniya (SAF, Sudan Air Force) aircraft, the Al Quwwat Al Jawwiya Il Misriya (EAF, Egypt Air Force) participates in this exercise with at least two MiG-29M2 Fulcrums.

The exercise involves joint training in both offensive and defensive operations by multirole aircraft, as well as special forces practising Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR).

The Egypt Ministry of Defence released a video showing the MiG-29M2s and an Il-76 arriving at Marawi Airport.

Also of note is that one of the MiG-29M2s was seen carrying a Kh-31 supersonic air-to-surface missile. However, it was not confirmed that this aircraft was actually participating in this exercise.

The participating SAF aircraft at Marawi included four FTC-2000s, two Su-25s, and an Su-24. Noted at the northern end of the runway were five Mi-24s.
