Egypt signs C295 support contract with Airbus
The Al Quwwat Al Jawwiya Il Misriya (EAF, Egyptian Air Force), the largest C295M operator worldwide, signed a five-year contract with Airbus Defence and Space for performance-based support of a total of 24 aircraft.
The contract includes for provision of materials, services, on-site technical support as well as on-wing maintenance. Since the delivery of the first aircraft to Egypt in October 2011, Airbus has been providing support through a service portfolio and by signing this contract, Egypt goes further in extending their trust in Airbus to deliver optimal fleet availability and mission readiness.
Stephan Miegel, Head of Military Aircraft Services at Airbus Defence and Space, said: “This agreement is a significant step forward in the integrated service support that we offer our customers in the region. Our goal and commitment to our customers is to maximise their fleet availability, ensure their mission readiness, all while saving maintenance costs.”
The Egypt Air Force operates the C295M transport aircraft with 8 Squadron / 533 Wing at Cairo/Intl. According to the Scramble Magazine database all aircraft have desert camouflage colours except for one, which has been painted in VIP colours.
