Enstrom 480B helicopters for Zambian Air Force
Enstrom Helicopter Corporation (EHC) revealed that the company has sold two Enstrom 480B turbine powered helicopters to the Zambian Air Force (ZAF).
The contract for the two Enstrom 480Bs was already signed in February 2023 and includes training for pilots and maintenance personnel. The helicopters will be equipped with cargo hooks and hard points for cameras, as well as the latest in Garmin avionics and glass panels.
The Enstroms will be based at Lusaka/Kenneth Kaunda International and will be used for training and utility missions. It is not known which squadron will operate the helicopters, but it will be part of No.9 Tactical Air Mobility Command. It has not been reported when the Enstroms will be delivered.
According to EHC, the Enstrom 480B is the flagship helicopter of the company. It was developed to US Army New Training Helicopter (NTH) requirements and is known for its reputation for safety, stability, comfort, and value.
