Final NH90-TTH delivered to the French Army Aviation
On 4 February 2025, NHIndustries delivered the 63rd and final NH90 Caiman Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH) to the Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre (French Army Aviation). The handover took place at the Airbus Helicopter factory in Marignane.
Alongside the AS532UL Cougar and EC725 Caracal helicopters, the NH90-TTH now serves as the primary platform for maneuver and assault operations. The legacy SA330B Puma is gradually being phased out.
In addition to the standard NH90-TTH, the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA) has also ordered a Special Forces variant. A total of eighteen have been ordered in two separate batches, ten in 2020 and eight more in 2023. Deliveries of these are expected to take place between 2026 and 2029.
