First COAN P-3C delivered
The first 'new' Lockheed P-3C Orion for the Comando de Aviación Naval (COAN, Argentinine Naval Aviation Command) arrived at Trelew on 2 September 2024.
It is the former Norwegian P-3C 3299 (c/n 285H-5820) and will receive code 6-P-57. After a period of storage at 309th AMARG in Tucson, Arizona, the aircraft was transported to Davis-Monthan AFB on 15 July 2024. By early August it was receiving attention at Rockland, Starke, Florida were it was noted on 5 August.
On 2 September it arrived, still marked with the Norwegian serial and name 'Ulabrand', at its new homebase Base Aeronaval Almirante Zar at Trelew in Chubut province Argentina, where it will join the Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Exploración of 6 Escuadra Aeronaval (EA6E).
