First flight naval version FC-31

Only a few days after the first photos of a new twin-seat Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) J-20 stealth fighter revealed that its first flight can be expected within days, another surprise came.

This time from Shenyang with some photos of the first flight of the carrier borne Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) FC-31 twin-engine stealth fighter on 29 October 2021.

The aircraft is a derivative of the FC-31, with a double nose wheel and launch bar for catapult assisted take offs, foldable wings and a carrier arrester hook at the aft of the fuselage.

It is reported that this new aircraft has been identified as a J-35. The J-35 is the third version SAC is building of the FC-31 design, where the other two versions never made it past the prototype stage.
