On Monday 9 August 2021, Luftforsvaret (RNoAF, Royal Norwegian Air Force) Boeing P-8A Poseidon serial 9582 (construction number 66110/8796) made its first flight from Renton Municipal (WA) and was transferred to Boeing Field Seattle.
The aircraft was in full RNoAF markings including the well-known Saint 333 skv unit markings on the tail and it carried test registration N682DS.
The Poseidon, named Vingtor, is the first of five Maritime Multimission Aircraft (MMA) that were ordered by Norway in March 2017 at a value of USD 1,2 billion.
The P-8As will replace the current six 333 skv Lockheed Martin P-3C/N Orions and the two Falcon 20ECMs operated by FEKS/717 skv.
