On 5 December 2024, the first flight of upgraded T-25M Universal 1880 (c/n 050) for the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB, Brazilian Air Force) took place.
The work was performed by the Parque de Material Aeronáutico de Lagoa Santa (Air Material Park), that is also responsible for overhauling the type. The T-25M features a cockpit with much more modern instruments like a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and a Terrain Perception and Warning System (TAWS). Also, a major rewiring took place and the complete redsign of the instrument panel resulted in a weight loss of 50 kg.
The T-25M will be undergoing rigorous testing and will stay with the test unit until 2026. The objective is to upgrade 38 machines, both T-25A and T-25C models, over the coming years. We have 45 possible active airframes in our database; candidates for this program.
