First HuAF H225M in Hungary for live fire testing
Back in 2018, the Hungarian Ministry of Defence (MoD) ordered sixteen Airbus H225M multi-purpose helicopters, including training and support as part of the ambitious ‘Zrinyi 2026’ armed forces modernisation programme. Scramble Magazine first wrote on this programme on 14 December 2018.
The first H225M destined for the Magyar Légierö (HuAF, Hungarian Air Force) was seen at the Airbus Helicopters plant, Marseille/Marignane, in July 2021. On 17 November 2022, the first HuAF H225M took to the air at Marignane on one of its first flights.
At this moment the H225M, still in primer and registered F-ZWDZ (c/n 3117), is at MH 47 Pápa (Jungary) for live fire testing. It is reported that theses tests will continue for some three to four weeks. As can be seen on the photo, the helicopters has serial 80 and sports the Hungarian Air Force roundel on the tailboom.
