First KC-390 landed in Hungary
On 11 April 2024, the first KC-390 Millennium for the Magyar Légierö (HuAF, Hungarian Air Force) landed at Kecskemét Air Base.
All markings, including roundels, serials, and titles, were taped over, with only the Brazilian test registration PT-ZHP noted. The aircraft will remain in Hungary for three weeks for additional ground and air testing. Additionally, specific NATO communication features will be installed and verified.
Following this test period, the Millennium will return to Brazil to complete final work. The Hungarian government signed a contract for the purchase of two KC-390s with air-to-air refueling (AAR) capability in November 2020. The contract includes pilot and technician training, as well as other services and support to bolster the Hungarian Defence Forces. Both aircraft are expected to be delivered this year.
