First Lightning II for the Grim Reapers expected shortly

Except for a small number, all LN coded F-15C/D legacy Eagles have almost disappeared from RAF Lakenheath (UK). Scramble Magazine reported earlier on these events on 22 January 2022 and 11 February 2022.

With Lakenheath's 495th Fighter Squadron Valkyries receiving F-35As at a steady pace, the first for the 493rd Fighter Squadron Grim Reapers is expected shortly.

Photographed, while test flying from Lockheed Martin's plant at Fort Worth (TX), is the first Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II, with convenient serial number 19-5493. The latter corresponds to the "493FS" commanders flagship aircraft.
