Former AAF helicopters at 309th AMARG
At the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), also known as the Boneyard, near Tucson (AZ), more and more former Afghan Air Force (AAF) helicopters are showing up.
These helicopters have undoubtedly been used during the fled of Afghan government leaders and military personnel to neighbouring countries as Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In addition, a number of helicopters, such as the Mi-17V-5, were under maintenance in Ukraine.
The latest situation at the 309th AMARG arrival area as noted by Aidan Curley on 28 December 2021 is: 1x Mi-8MTV, 6x Mi-17V-5, 16x MD530F.
More helicopters and fixed wing aircraft will definitely arrive in the coming period.
