On 3 June 2021, our friend Rainer Hentschke was fortunate to join the German Air Force (GAF) C-160D Goodbye Transall Tour North.
Departing Fliegerhorst Hohn (Schleswig-Holstein) early morning, the tour passed the following air bases and airfields: Jagel, Nordholz, Wittmind, Diepholz, Bremen, Bückeburg, Wunstorf, Fassberg, Neubrandenburg, Anklam, Stralsund-Barth, Rostock, Kiel before returning to Hohn in the afternoon.
The Goodbye Tour South and East is scheduled for 17 August and 18 August 2021. A schedule will be published in the near future.
The fly-out date for the C-160D, currently operated by Lufttransportgeschwader 63 (LTG63, Air Transport Wing) at Hohn and a single aircraft with the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle für Luftfahrzeuge 61 (WTD61) at Manching/Ingolstadt, is set for 23 September 2021. LTG63 will be disbanded by 31 December 2021.
