Greece donates ERJ135BJ to Cyprus (Update)

Greece had donated one of their Embraer ERJ135s to the Cyprus government. The Embraer ERJ135BJ, ex Hellenic Air Force 135L-484 (c/n 145484), has been painted in Cyprus colours with serial CAF-001 and Cyprus Republic titles. The aircraft has offically been delivered on 1 September 2022.

However it appears that she is still based at Elefsis AB and operated by HAF 352 Moira. The aircraft even flew to Paphos as HAF352N on the day of its delivery, possibly carrying the President of Cyprus, with her old hex code 4681E4

According to the information, the ERJ135BJ is donated to Cyprus as a token of appreciation for Cyprus' help in fighting the devastating fires in Mati in 2018. The donation was officially announced by the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Cyprus a few months ago.

The aircraft will be used in the VIP role as the transport aircraft for the President of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and possibly the Speaker of the Parliament.
