Yesterday's announcement by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis illustrates the strength of the partnership that has linked the Polemikí Aeroporía (Hellenic Air Force) and Dassault Aviation for more than 45 years, and demonstrates the enduring strategic relationship between Greece and France. Speaking in Thessaloniki, the Greek PM Mitsotakis said that the defence of the country will also be boosted through the acquisition of Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters, torpedoes, anti-tank and guided missiles and the modernisation of the Hydra-class frigates.

Flying for the Hellenic Air Force, the Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, in-depth strike, anti-ship strike and nuclear deterrence missions.
