‘Green light’ imminent for Fokker D.XXI

Fokker D.XXI ‘229’ (PH-XXI) built by Egmond Vintage Wings at Hoogeveen airfield in the Netherlands is only inches away from its Certificate of Airworthiness (CoA). The builders announced this week that their project has officially completed its test flying program on 20 April 2023.

The test flights, performed by Dan Griffith, a former British CAA test pilot, have been extremely satisfactory. The time has now come to hand over the results of the test flying to the Dutch Aviation Authority, ILT (Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport). On approval of the reports of the test flying, PH-XXI can receive its CoA.

The Fokker fighter made its first flight from Hoogeveen on 23 May 2022 and the test phase was taken up from 16 June 2022. Having completed the test flying within one year can be considered as a proof of the skills and perseverance of the builders!
