Hungarian Trojan lost

North American T-28A Trojan HA-RDM (c/n 174-185) crashed during the Börgönd airshow in Hungary on 10 September 2023. During its display flight, the plane lost altitude while performing an aileron roll following a low pass over runway 01. The Trojan then impacted terrain and burst into flames.

On impact both pilots, the owner and his son, were killed. Three people on the ground (a young girl, a woman and a man) suffered serious burns. A little boy was slightly injured.

HA-RDM had an impressive list of previous identities: 51-3647 (USAF), 29 (converted to AdlA Fennec) , 1-A-255 (Argentina Navy), N992CA (Courtesy Aircraft), C-GLPM (Jacques Lacombe), N28FE, NX28FE, N28FE (Various private owners), ZU-FAA (Stu Davidson) & HB-RDM (Willy Tschopp). It was acquired by its Hungarian owner, director of a flight school, in April 2021.
